Finding Your Target Market

RESEARCH

Look at your current customer base. What are their interests and why do they buy/use your business? After searching at YOUR customer base, now take a look at your competition. Who are they targeting and who are their current customers? 

Now you might be thinking if they are already using your competitors why would you target them…. But that is not the goals of this! The point of researching your competition is to find a niche you can service that they are not! Finding your niche will help grow your reach and develop your target market.

DATA

Begin compiling data of your target audience (age, location, interests, lifestyle, etc.) Your social analytics and own customer database can provide a lot of this information. Do a deep dive into your insights, study them, see who is interacting on your content, and use that data to start to develop an ideal customer. 

APPLY 

Once researching and compiling data for your target market, it is now time to apply and understand your data. Find what platforms and when your audience interacts on social media. Look into what types of content they find valuable. After you find this information about your target market it is time to apply to your marketing strategy!
