2023 Trend Predicitions

2023 is here, and with a new year, comes new trends. With so many changes to the social media space in the past year, 2023 is bound to be BIG for: updates, strategy shifts, and social media managers staying on their toes.

Here are our TOP 5 predictions for 2023 social media trends.

Short form video content is here to stay and dominate.

As we all know TikTok and Instagram Reels have surged over the past year, and we believe that we will continue to see this growth well into 2023. Many social strategies are shifting from image based content to short form videos to stay relevant in the changing platforms. Along with this many brands are turning their attention to TikTok. With younger generations using TikTok as their search engine, it is now vital for brands to start incorporating TikTok into their social strategy.

Less curated, more authentic.

With TikTok on the rise and markets being flooded with so many options, consumers are on the search for authenticity and brands that relate to them. With this mindset, we believe content will start switching from curated perfection to a more authentic brand voiced based content. Showing off your brand's style, authenticity, and story will help separate you from the pack!

SEO and Keywords will be crucial.

Now this one is a hard pill to swallow for most and ourselves as well, BUT hashtags may become less relevant. In 2023, we see SEO and Keyword Optimization on the rise. So instead of focusing on plugging hashtags, we encourage you to add keywords to your captions, videos, and content that are relevant to your niche, brand, and focus on your audience's pain points.

TikTok will continue to be KING!

There is no surprise here. Nearly 40% of Gen Z prefers searching on TikTok and Instagram over Google Search and Maps. Like we said, TikTok NEEDS to be a part of your strategy to stay relevant and reach a larger audience. The platform has allowed many brands to take a more relaxed approach to content producing, allowing them to show their brand voice and truly connect with their audience. Think about your TikTok strategy as a way to talk to your audience as if they are your friend, chatting over FaceTime and sharing your day.

LinkedIn is ready to make an appearance.

Now this one we are excited to see! LinkedIn has been around for many years but recently has posted record growth and engagement. It is expected to account for 25% of B2B advertising in two years. Many brands may see LinkedIn as a nonessential, but for anyone looking to wholesale, grow their services, and stay relevant within their niche, we think LinkedIn is a great way to continue your growth with other businesses in and outside your field.

2023 is off to a strong start, and without a doubt there will be continuous changes to the social media game, but we are excited to see if our trend predictions stick and which trends come out of the woodworks!
