What is S.E.O?!

You might be seeing this word everywhere lately and may not fully understand what it is. Well, we are here to make it simple, because it is! SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, so what does that mean? 

SEO is basically keywords that apply to your niche, that your audience/potential audience would be searching in hope of finding your business. This is what we call your discoverability, and SEO is a very important tactic when hoping to improve this. ⁠⁠

Essentially the more people who discover your content the greater the opportunity you have for growing your following which will lead to a strong community. ⁠

As we talked about in our 2023 predictions, hashtags are heading out the window, and SEO is moving in. With nearly half of Gen Z using TikTok and Instagram as their preferred search engine, over Google, it is time to start investing in your SEO.⁠⁠

So what does that look like? ⁠

Social media platforms fully analyze every piece of your content to establish what the post is about and who might find it valuable. By implementing strong SEO tactics into your strategy and content, it will in-turn help better your chance of being discovered by a larger audience.⁠

Here are our 3 tips on bettering your content SEO: ⁠

Write Descriptive Captions that Include Your Brands Keywords⁠.

Sit down, think about your brand, and start jotting down words that your audience would use to search you or words that you would want to populate from. For L&M those words would center around: 

Social media, social media management, branding, digital marketing, content creation, Omaha, website design, website development, social media tips, reels, TikTok, instagram tips, etc.

As you can see in our post about content shooting, we added branded keywords to our descriptive caption, to make it more searchable to our desired audience.

 

Plump Up Your Profile Name and Bio with Searchable Keywords⁠.

Take the same approach as with your captions. As Instagram and TikTok are being used more as search engines, this makes your profile a great opportunity to be searchable!! Looking at our profile, you can see we have incorporated our biggest keyword ‘social media marketing’, then throughout the profile, we added other major keywords that we want to be searchable for.

 

Know Your Niche and Stay Consistent with Your Content.

Take time, research the pain points of your target audience, and be confident in your brand. If you can focus on one niche, learn it, and align your content to them, you will become searchable. Lastly, stay consistent, batch content, and create a strong strategy.
